Important Notice concerning EMF Paint: For ecological reasons, unlike some other EMF Paints, EMF-Turtal does not contain any chemical solvents or antifreeze.

Outdoor EMF Shielding Paint - Durable and Non-Toxic

Eco-friendly EMF-Turtal Outdoor paint shields exterior walls and other surfaces against HF/LF radiation including 5G. Breathable, weather-resistant, solvent-free, and easy to apply.

Important: We do not use harmful graphene oxide (GO) in our products.

With the PLV+ Carbon paint range, we have developed a high-performance EMF Shielding Paint that is completely free from graphene. Instead, conductive carbon fibres are used to achieve the strong conductivity required to dissipate low-frequency electric fields while delivering robust broadband protection against high-frequency radiation.

  • 5G EMF Shielding Paint PLV+ Carbon - powder for 3.0 litres
  • Shielding performance up to 99.999%
  • Pure acrylate-based
  • HF/LF, 5G, LTE shielding
  • Broadband EMF protection
  • Solvent-free
  • Specially formulated for outdoor application
  • Fast drying
  • Breathable and low-emission
  • Coverage: 12-15 m²

Product Description

This 3 Litre HF/LF EMF Shielding Paint PLV+ Carbon is formulated on a pure acrylate base, contains no preservatives, and is completely low-emission and odourless. The product is supplied in powder form, which makes it frost-resistant and ensures years of stable storage without losing its protective properties.

The paint is easy to prepare: simply mix one bag with 2.0 litres of water using a stirrer and drill for around 10 minutes. Once prepared, each pack yields 3 litres of paint, with a coverage of approx. 6.0 m² per litre on smooth and primed surfaces (per coat). Thanks to its quick drying time, surfaces can be repainted after just a few hours with most commercial outdoor wall paints (see application instructions).

One bag produces 3 litres of ready-to-use EMF Paint, covering 12-15 m² with one coat.

  • Shielding attenuation up to 99.999%
  • Pure acrylate-based
  • HF/LF EMF shielding: 5G, electrosmog, LTE, Wi-Fi, GSM, DECT, etc.
  • Solvent-free
  • Outdoor application - walls and façades
  • Fast drying
  • Breathable and low-emission

Shielding Effectiveness

Independent testing confirms that the shielding values of our PLV+ Carbon Outdoor range are virtually identical to the Indoor PLV paints.

  • At approx. 150 g/m² (≈5 m² per litre):
    • Single coat: up to 49 dB
    • Double coat: up to 65 dB
  • At approx. 100 g/m² (≈7-8 m² per litre):
    • Single coat: up to 36 dB
    • Double coat: up to 58 dB
    • Triple coat: up to 65 dB

This translates to reliable protection across a very wide frequency range, 500 MHz to 40 GHz, covering both 5G bands FR1 (600 MHz-6 GHz) and FR2 (24-40 GHz).

Technical Data

  • Fire behaviour: flame retardant (see safety data sheet).
  • Application: exterior walls and façades.
  • Contents: one pack PLV+ Carbon powder.
  • Packaging volume: 3 litres when mixed.
  • Bag dimensions: 34.0 cm (H) × 25.0 cm (W) × 10.0 cm (D).
  • Fill weight: 1,250 g.
  • Colour: anthracite-black.
  • Adhesion strength: 12.2 N/mm² when mixed with 2 litres of water.
  • VOC content: 0.2 g/l (well below EU limit of 30 g/l).

Substrates: Excellent adhesion on plaster, concrete, old paint, plasterboard, wallpaper, polystyrene, untreated wood and more (see application data sheet).
Overpainting: Should preferably be coated with suitable outdoor dispersion paints. Do not wallpaper over shielding paint, as adhesives may dilute the surface and reduce shielding performance. Avoid clay-based or pure mineral paints. Always perform a test with lime or casein paints to check compatibility.

Grounding: Must always be grounded to shield low-frequency fields.

Application Notes

  • Once mixed with water, use within approx. 1 week.
  • In powder form, the product can be stored for several years.
  • Frost-resistant during transport.
  • Always mix a complete bag to ensure even particle distribution.
  • Stir thoroughly before each coat, including the second coat, as carbon particles may settle.

Advantages of EMF-Turtal Outdoor

  • Effective EMF shielding for HF/LF radiation, including 5G.
  • Weather-resistant formula for outdoor application.
  • Powder form ensures long shelf life and lighter shipping weight.
  • No solvents, no preservatives, no harmful biocides.
  • Independently verified shielding performance.

What to Look for in EMF Paint

Unlike EMF-Turtal powder paints, most liquid EMF paints require chemical preservatives such as isothiazolinones to prevent microbial growth. These substances, however, are toxic to aquatic environments and pose ecological risks.

Common preservatives include:

  • Benzisothiazolinone (BIT)
  • Enilconazole (INN)
  • Methylisothiazolinone (MIT)

Tip: Always check the technical data sheet before purchasing EMF Shielding Paint. All preservatives must be disclosed there.

Easy to overpaint

A crucial factor in EMF Shielding Paint is how easily it can be repainted without disturbing the shielding layer. Paints with poor adhesion or chalking behaviour cannot be overpainted effectively and may lose shielding performance.

Chalking means that graphite dust transfers to the hand when touched - a clear sign of poor adhesion. This makes repainting extremely difficult and reduces effectiveness.

Important: Always ensure the EMF Paint has an adhesion strength of at least 10 N/mm². EMF-Turtal Outdoor provides 12 N/mm², guaranteeing excellent adhesion and overpainting results.

Verified Shielding

The effectiveness of EMF Shielding Paint is measured in decibels (dB), reflecting both attenuation and shielding capacity. Claims of 90-100 dB should always be checked against coat thickness, expressed in g/m², to ensure accuracy.

For EMF-Turtal Outdoor:

  • One coat (≈150 g/m²): up to 49 dB
  • Two coats: up to 65 dB
  • Three coats (≈100 g/m²): up to 65 dB

A standard acrylic roller application typically corresponds to 100-150 g/m².
