Description

EMF Shielding Paint 3 Litre HF/NF indoor PLV+Carbon

This EMF Shielding Paint 3 Litre HF/NF PLV+Carbon is based on pure acrylate, contains no preservatives, and is completely low-emission and odourless.

With the PLV+ paint range we have developed an EMF Shielding Paint completely without graphene, replacing graphene with carbon fibres. In PLV+ products, we’ve achieved exceptional conductivity—crucial for dissipating low-frequency fields, entirely without graphene, thanks to the advanced use of carbon fibres.

We supply the paint in powder form, making it frost-resistant and capable of being stored for several years without losing its properties. It is an easy-to-use, efficient EMF Protection Paint. It only needs to be mixed with 2.0 litres of water per bag using a stirring device and drill (cordless screwdriver) for 10 minutes according to instructions. The coverage of the paint is 6.0 m² per litre on smooth and primed surfaces (per coat). Thanks to its short drying time, it is fast to apply and can be painted over after just a few hours (once dry) with most commercially available wall paints (see included application instructions).

High and low-frequency shielding powder PLV+ Carbon for interior use, for 3 litres.

  • Pure acrylate-based.
  • HF / NF EMF shielding: 5G, 6G, electrosmog, LTE, Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, etc.
  • Solvent-free.
  • For interior / ceilings.
  • Fast drying.
  • Breathable and low-emission.
  • Covers 12-15 m² (one coat).

Our carbon-based 3 Litre HF/NF EMF Shielding Paint offers many advantages: high-frequency radiation exposure from mobile phones, mobile internet, 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi, DECT, GSM, LTE, etc. is shielded efficiently and reliably. The electrical fields of domestic low-frequency power (alternating current) are grounded with the earthing plate and can be almost completely shielded or dissipated.

Shielding attenuation / 500 MHz to 40 GHz

The shielding attenuation of our PLV+ Carbon range is almost identical to our PLV range, which has been independently measured. The shielding values of our PLV range can be taken from the linked report. A normal coat corresponds to around 150 g/m² dry mass or 200 ml. Depending on local exposure, we always recommend at least two coats.

  • With coverage of 5 m² / litre / coat thickness approx. 150 g/m²:
    • Single coat: up to 49 dB
    • Double coat: up to 65 dB
  • With coverage of 7-8 m² / litre / coat thickness approx. 100 g/m²:
    • Single coat: up to 36 dB
    • Double coat: up to 58 dB
    • Triple coat: up to 65 dB

This is a low-odour, low-emission 5G EMF Shielding Paint PLV+ 3 Litre HF/NF indoor, free from chemical solvents.

Strong shielding performance against 5G

Thanks to intensive research and innovative product development, our PLV+ indoor EMF Shielding Paint (powder) achieves shielding attenuation across a very wide frequency range (from low-frequency to high-frequency radiation exposure). The strength of our shielding paint lies particularly in shielding of very high frequencies such as those used in 5G. Since its market launch in 2019, this paint has covered both 5G frequency spectrums FR1 (600 MHz to 6 GHz) and FR2 (24 GHz to 40 GHz).

Technical Data:

  • Fire resistance: flame retardant. More details in the included safety data sheet.
  • Application: ceilings, interior use.
  • Contents: one pack PLV+ (powder).
  • Packaging volume: each PLV+ = 3 litres.
  • Bag dimensions: 34.0 cm (H) x 25.0 cm (W) x 10.0 cm (D).
  • Fill weight: 1,200 g.

Substrate: Excellent adhesion to almost all surfaces such as old paint, plasterboard, wallpaper, plaster, concrete, polystyrene, wood (untreated), etc. Further details can be found in the application data sheet.

Overpainting: Should preferably be painted over with interior dispersion paint. Do not apply wallpaper directly over the EMF Shielding Paint, as the adhesive may dilute the paint and reduce its protective effect. Adhesion of wallpaper on shielding paint is not recommended or guaranteed. Avoid clay-based paints in any case. For natural or organic silicate emulsion paints, lime, and casein paints, always perform a test application, as not all paints adhere equally well to carbon-based EMF Shielding Paint. We do not recommend pure mineral paints (clay, pure silicate).

Grounding: Must always be grounded!

Colour: anthracite-black
Field type: NF (extremely low-frequency alternating electric fields), HF (high-frequency electromagnetic fields)
Ingredients: pure acrylate binder, carbon fibre, graphite
VOC content: 0.2 g/l (EU limit for category A/a since 2010 is 30 g/l)
Adhesion strength: 12.2 N/mm² when mixed with 2 litres water per bag

Once the powder is mixed with water, we recommend using the paint within approx. 1 week.
Storage life: in powder form, several years.

This EMF shielding powder paint is largely frost-resistant for winter transport.

Important: Always mix a complete bag of PLV+ (never just part of it), as heavier particles can settle at the bottom during transport. Always stir again before each use, even before applying the second coat, for at least 5 minutes, as particles may settle during drying of the first coat. Please observe the included safety and application instructions.

Specific product recommendations can be found in our data sheets.

Advantages: High-efficiency, reliable EMF shielding for 5G/6G protection. A major advantage is that the paint is sold in powder form, making it storable for years and not requiring use within 6-12 months. This also significantly reduces shipping weight.

What to look out for when buying EMF Shielding Paint

Unlike EMF-Turtal in powder form, ready-made liquid paints cannot be produced without preservatives. Of concern is the biocide isothiazolinone in dispersion paints. Preservatives such as isothiazolinones protect water-based paints and varnishes from microbial infestation and spoilage.

According to the German Paint and Printing Ink Association (VdL):
“Without preservatives, about one-third of paints would spoil in the bucket in a short time, before they even reach the consumer. For most water-based paints, preservation is the only meaningful way to protect them from microbial infestation.”

However, isothiazolinones have undesired side effects: they are highly toxic to aquatic life.

Frequently used isothiazolinones include:

  • Benzisothiazolinone (BIT), classified as hazardous, a widely used biocide.
  • Enilconazole (INN), classified as hazardous, a systemic fungicide from the imidazole group.
  • Methylisothiazolinone (MIT), classified as hazardous, a widely used biocide.

Tip: Always check the manufacturer’s technical data sheet before buying EMF Shielding Paint. All preservatives must be fully listed there.

Easy to paint over

A very important aspect of EMF Shielding Paint is how easily it can be painted over without loosening the base layer. Adhesion strength is critical. If shielding paint adheres poorly or chalks, overpainting with white is almost impossible or only possible with reduced shielding effectiveness.

If shielding paint chalks, this means: when wiping the dry wall with your hand, graphite dust remains. A wall with loose graphite dust is very difficult to paint over, and the covering white paint will lose EMF shielding ability as material is abraded.

Important: Always ensure EMF Shielding Paint has an adhesion strength of at least 10 N/mm². Otherwise, your wall will be grey instead of white! EMF-Turtal has an adhesion strength of 12 N/mm². Always check the technical data sheet for this value before purchase!

The Shielding

The most important aspect of EMF Shielding Paint is, of course, its shielding performance. This is achieved through reflection and attenuation of high-frequency radiation (HF). Low-frequency fields (NF) from household power are dissipated via grounding, using the conductive properties of the EMF Protection Paint. Both attenuation and shielding are specified in decibels (dB).

Important: Some manufacturers advertise 90 dB or 100 dB shielding for paints - without specifying the exact coat thickness. The thickness should be specified in g/m² (grams per square metre per coat). This value tells the customer how much dry paint mass per square metre is needed to achieve the claimed shielding.

EMF-Turtal:

  • With coverage of 5 m² / litre / coat thickness approx. 150 g/m²:
    • Single coat: up to 49 dB
    • Double coat: up to 65 dB
  • With coverage of 7 m² / litre / coat thickness approx. 100 g/m²:
    • Single coat: up to 36 dB
    • Double coat: up to 58 dB
    • Triple coat: up to 65 dB

A standard coat with an acrylic roller corresponds to approx. 100-150 g/m².
